At its core, Alana Care Solutions is not just about arranging care. It is about helping families feel supported, informed, and connected.

Colleen explained that her connection to care began long before working professionally in the sector. Colleen’s experience supporting both her grandfather and later her father helped her understand how difficult it can be for families to find trusted care and clear guidance. She also highlighted concerns around unregulated care, poor communication, and the lack of clear guidance available to families trying to make important decisions under pressure.

Colleen focused heavily on the importance of building stronger links between families, care providers, and support services. Alana Care Solutions aims to act as an independent support service, helping people understand their needs through initial assessments before matching them with suitable providers.

Colleen also talked about collaboration over competition. She spoke about her “Stronger Together Network”, which encourages care providers to share knowledge, resources, and support rather than operating in isolation. The network also creates opportunities for providers to connect, discuss challenges, and improve standards across the sector.

Alongside helping families access care, Alana Care Solutions is also working with colleges and providers to improve training and consistency within the care industry.

The session was a reminder that good care is not only about services. It is about trust, communication, and making people feel supported during difficult periods in their lives. Through Alana Care Solutions, Colleen is working to create a more connected and compassionate care community across Leeds, Harrogate, and beyond.
